Victoria Tengco Burgos: Inspired to Lead

When she was young, she deeply admired her grandmother Nanay Turing, the founder of Baliwag Transit, whose blend of love and hard work shaped her outlook in life. She not only exemplified industriousness but also prioritized the well-being of her coworkers, teaching Victoria that a thriving organization relies on its people. Her values remain a guiding force in her journey as a leader.

Leading One Tengco Group, Victoria Tengco Burgos is one leader worthy to emulate, for her, a food business means managing seamless, 24/7 operations while balancing responsibilities in finance, marketing, and people management.

“One lesson I’ve learned is that a leader’s most important asset is health. Regular medical checkups and wellness routines are non-negotiable for me, as I can’t lead effectively if I’m not physically fit.”

Equally vital is spiritual health.  For Victoria, she prays daily, asking for strength and guidance to care for her family and work family.

“My vision is to foster a loving, peaceful, and God-fearing environment, both at home and in our company. As we expand, I remain committed to ensuring the well-being of all stakeholders, mirroring Nanay Turing’s legacy of integrity and care.”

Some have asked if she will enter public service, but her calling lies in steering the company toward a clear roadmap for growth.

“This, I believe, is my service to the nation—creating opportunities and uplifting the lives of Filipinos we work with.”

As John Quincy Adams said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”

“I aim to live by this, ensuring that integrity, hard work, and inspiration define both my life and leadership.”
