PCCI’s “Philippine Business Conference” 2024 Review

ree

The preparation for the Philippine Business Conference under the biggest and largest business organization in the Philippines, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry or PCCI must be one year since it is a yearly event headed by the National President and its whole team so the attendees expected that it will be carefully conceptualized and planned well.

This year, PCCI is celebrating its golden anniversary for the Philippine Business Conference and the attendees expected more than last year which was headed by Architect Felino “Jun” Palafox.

Here is our take comparing last year and the other conferences with exhibitors/expo that we attended.

Since the Marriot Grand Ballroom is supposedly one of the biggest venues that can have more than 2000 attendees, it’s more spacious. Good choice for the conference.

The invited speakers last year were more big-time or high-profile attendees than this year since they were awarded the 10 Nation Builders.

The exhibitors must be improved. It is ok to sell but their sampling or giveaways must be something valuable not just fliers. The organizers must check the Expo and Conferences in Indonesia for best practices, the attendees will be overwhelmed with sampling that they can take home.

The talk must be minimized. We can see people were just taking photos and networking, most are not even listening. It was too long.

More B2Bs and to invite other countries to participate in Breakout sessions. We only heard about the US delegation under Edwin Moran.

Big companies must participate in booths/expos not just SMEs to showcase more what the Philippines has to offer and Bigger expo/ booth venue.

Overall, we congratulated the leadership of this year’s administration for executing the 50th Business Conference with attendance of Dennis Uy of Converge, Captain Stanley Ng of Philippine Airlines, Vice President Sara Duterte, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara,  Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Secretary Ernesto V. Perez, Miru’s George Barcelon, Lucio Tan Group of Companies Micheal Tan, Mayor Albee Benitez, The Manila Hotel President Joey D. Lina, Atty. Arnel Mateo, SPD Jobs Sarah Mateo, Mayor Joy Belmonte, Yupangco Group President Robert Laurel Yupangco, The E Hotels Chairman Dr. Elton See Tan, Tag Media Group’s Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas, Remy Bondad and Andria Terese Nicolas, Peanut World’s Josie See, Jude Aguilar, and Former PAGCOR Chairman Efraim Genuino among other VVIPs.
